How do I get started?

1. Who uses a Personal Trainer

The role of the Personal Trainer is changing. It used to be that celebrities and wealthy individuals were the only people that used trainers. Today Personal Trainers are trained professionals that have been educated to work with various types of clients. Children as young as 7 years old, 80 year old men and obese adults, athletes and rehabilitation clients all benefit from working with a Trainer. Clients are using Personal Trainers for: weight loss, weight gain, flexibility, improve posture, alleviate stress, increase energy, rehab injury and improving sport related activities such as sprinting, reaction speed, agility and power.

2. What exactly does a Personal Trainer do?

Our trainers have roles when working with clients. Your trainer will serve as a coach, teacher and motivator. It is the Personal Trainer’s job, to assess your current physical condition, establish very specific goals, design an individualized programme, and do what ever it takes to keep you on track towards getting results.

3. Once I begin working with a Personal Trainer, what will happen during the sessions?

The Personal Training Director will contact you and ask you some questions about your specific goals and conditions. After the Personal Training Director matches you up with a suitable trainer, you will set up an appointment for a complete consultation.

During the consultation, which lasts approximately one hour, your trainer will gather as much information on your medical and exercise history as possible in order to create the best program for you . Next your trainer will establish realistic goals and discuss the strategies that will be used to accomplish them. Blood Pressure, Heart Rate , Body Fat Testing, Body Girth measurements and flexibility are done during the consultation process.

The next time you meet your trainer, you will start training and over the next couple of sessions your trainer will see what you are able to do and progress the sessions from there. Your trainer will demonstrate proper technique and explain to you the fundamentals behind the specific training that you are focusing on. Although high intensity training is the ultimate goal, you can expect to take it easy for the first couple of sessions to allow your body to adjust to the new style of training?

Your Personal Trainer will teach you about the various types of training, and depending on your programme, you trainer will help determine your goals for the next couple of sessions.

4. Where can I train?

You can meet one of our trainers at one of our personal training facilities which are based at the Camden Court Hotel, Camden St, Dublin 2. or Network Fitness Clubs Ashtown, The River Centre, Ashtown, Dublin 15.
